District Direct

What is the District Direct breakdown?

District Direct is the portion of a donor’s President’s Council, Ambassador of Song or Key Voices Annual Gift to Harmony Foundation which is automatically allocated back to their home BHS District to support District Programs. District Direct funding disbursements will be scheduled for use to support pre-planned/scheduled programs or events by District Leadership while working in concert with their designated HFI liaisons.

The amount is equal to 40% less any Chapter/Brigade Donor’s Choice.

Examples:

  • Donor Chooses 30% to Chapter/Brigade. District Allocation is 10%.

  • Donor Chooses 20% to Chapter/Brigade. District Allocation is 20%.

  • Donor Chooses 10% to Chapter/Brigade. District Allocation is 30%.

  • Donor Chooses 0% to Chapter/Brigade. District Allocation is 40%.

Any unforeseen Program or Event Updates or Cancellation:

  • Should a Program/Event need to be cancelled/altered, District Leadership will simply work with HFI liaisons to ensure clear understanding/agreement of where Donor dollars will be used.

  • This communication is necessary to satisfy audit requirements, fundraising ‘best practices,’ and District Donor peace of mind.

National Granting

Harmony Foundation is also proud to designate 25% of a donor’s President’s Council, Ambassador of Song or Key Voices Annual Gift to our National Granting Pool whereby BHS HQ, Districts and Chapters may request additional program support throughout specific application timelines. Harmony Foundation Programming

The remainder of a donor’s President’s Council, Ambassador of Song or Key Voices Annual Gift to Harmony Foundation supports HFI’s specific programmatic works that far outreaches raising funds, including:

  • Raising Awareness through our CONNECT program

  • Raising Hope through our ENRICH program

  • Raising Voices through our SING program

  • Power of Harmony, our juvenile anti-recidivism program through music education and mentorship

  • The Association of International Champions Outreach Initiatives
