Donor’s Choice

Harmony Foundation believes that singing is an integral part of having a joyful life. The community you have built fits perfectly within our mission to support communities of singers and all the benefits they provide in each others lives. 

Our Donor’s Choice program is a great way to facilitate support to many segments of singing communities through one gift. When donors make financial gifts to Harmony Foundation, they have the choice to dedicate portions of that funding to their District, Chapter, and/or Brigade while at the same time helping Harmony Foundation support the other barbershop programs through our grant cycle as well. This allows you to focus on singing, fellowship, and embracing all the benefits of singing that are at the core of our mission while maximizing our expertise to work for you!


Program Guidelines 

Twice each year, we send a check or EFT representing designations for your respective District, Chapter, and/or Brigade from donors who appreciate the vital work at the local and regional levels to enrich lives through singing.  Generous donors have the option to designate up to 30 percent of their contributions to the District, Chapter, and/or Brigade of their choice. 

The program is administered under the following guidelines:

  • The Foundation accounts for all Donor Choice pledges to Districts, Chapters, and Brigades.

  • Cash received between July 1 and December 31 is distributed the following March and mailed directly to the District, Chapter, or Brigade Treasurer.

  • Cash received between January 1 and June 30 is distributed the following September and will be distributed either by postal mail or during the fall district conventions to chapter representatives. Brigade checks will be mailed to the Treasurer.

  • Checks will be issued only if Donor Choice designations total $25 or greater for the District, Chapter, or Brigade. Otherwise, the distribution is held until the total reaches $25.

If a chapter has lost its 501(c)3 designation, the funds will be held until the status is resolved.

In addition to the check or EFT, a list of individuals who have contributed through the Donor Choice option is included. For confidentiality reasons, we will not reveal the amounts these donors contributed. If donors wish to disclose the amount of their donations, they may do so at their discretion. We strongly encourage you to use this opportunity to recognize them in a respectful way in which the donor remains free from any future pressure yet is recognized for their choice to include you in their philanthropic partnership with Harmony Foundation.

Harmony Foundation reserves the right to make the final decision regarding Donors Choice distributions.
